  5. About Share Ware...
  6. -------------------
  7. Share Ware (also known as user supported software and other names) is a
  8. concept not understood by everyone.  The authors of Share Ware retain all
  9. rights to the software under the copyright laws while still allowing
  10. free distribution.  This gives the user the chance to freely obtain and
  11. try out software to see if it fits his needs.  Share Ware should not be
  12. confused with Public Domain Software even though they are often obtained
  13. from the same sources.

  15. If you continue to use Share Ware after trying it out, you are expected
  16. to register with the author and pay a registration fee.  What you get in
  17. return depends on the author, but may include a printed manual, free
  18. updates, telephone support, etc.  Only by paying for the Share Ware you
  19. use do you enable the Share Ware author to continue to support his software
  20. and create new programs.  Considering that the Share Ware registration fees
  21. are almost always far less than the purchase price of comparable commercial
  22. software it's obvious that Share Ware is a good deal for everyone.

  24. There are real advantages to you in the Share Ware system.  You get to
  25. try out software to make sure it is compatible with your hardware and
  26. that it fits your needs before you "buy" it with your registration.
  27. The author saves the expense of advertising, packaging and distribution
  28. and passes the savings on to you.  Plus, most Share Ware authors are
  29. much more accessible than commercial software sources so that your
  30. questions and suggestions are much more likely to be responded to.

  34.                              SMART MENU BENEFITS
  35.  
  36.      Upon registration of Smart Menu (SM), you will receive a Registration
  37. Number and Serial Number, with instructions explaining how to register SM.
  38. No disk will be sent, unless you specify.  There is no difference between
  39. the registered and unregistered version of SM, except that registered
  40. version lacks the shareware screen, and the owner's name and serial number
  41. are displayed on the main screen.

  43.      Registration of Smart Menu is fifteen dollars ($15.00), U.S., and is
  44. for life.  You can register all future versions of Smart Menu with the same
  45. Registration Number and Serial Number.

  47.      There are two ways to register Smart Menu 2.6.  One is via CompuServe's     
  48. SWREG Service.  You can use the ID number 4361 to register Smart Menu 
  49. online.  The online registration is slightly more expensive due to CIS's
  50. service charges.  However, You will receive your registration information
  51. the next day, and a printed letter shortly thereafter.

  53.      The other way to register is to fill out this form, and mail it, along
  54. with the appropiate amount, in a check or money order (Please, no cash), in 
  55. United States Dollars, made payable to John Campion, and your order will 
  56. be shipped promptly after receiving it.
